About the Journal

The Journal of Applied Nursing and Health (JANH) is an international, double-blind, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal. JANH with a distinctive focus on ASEAN and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), JANH highlights healthcare challenges and innovations in resource-limited settings, cultural perspectives and local contexts in health and nursing practice, as well as practical solutions that are often underrepresented in leading international journals.

JANH is primarily focused on clinical questions and applied research, particularly on questions relating to patients and clinical care in terms of prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. These questions address real-world challenges in patient care and health systems, especially in ASEAN and LMICs.

Specific focus or topics covered in the journal include:

  • Evidence-based practice that improves patient outcomes in diverse and resource-limited settings.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration across nursing, medicine, and allied health.
  • Community and public health are designed and adapted to local sociocultural contexts.
  • Cultural and contextual perspectives that influence health behaviors, patient–provider interactions, and models of care delivery.
  • Healthcare innovation and technology, including digital health and telemedicine, are adapted to local realities.

JANH welcomes papers covering these topics in the form of original research, reviews, and applied studies across a wide range of fields.

When submitting a manuscript that employs publicly accessible data, authors must ensure that the study provides a substantial contribution to existing knowledge and applies validated, appropriate methods in measuring exposures and health outcomes. [Aim, Scope & Focus]
