Reviewers are expected to evaluate each manuscript objectively and critically, adhering to high-quality standards. Assessment should focus on originality, methodological rigor, relevance, clarity, and overall contribution to applied nursing and health sciences.
1. Originality and Novelty
- Ensure the manuscript presents new findings or perspectives in applied nursing and health sciences.
- Assess the scientific contribution: does the article provide significant insight or innovation?
- Check for originality; the manuscript must be free from plagiarism.
2. Relevance to Journal Scope
- The topic should align with applied nursing or applied health sciences.
- Consider the potential impact of the research on practice, policy, or scientific advancement.
- Articles that are not relevant should be recommended for rejection.
3. Methodological Quality
- Research methods should be clear, appropriate, and capable of answering the research questions.
- Evaluate the study design, sample size, instruments, and data analysis.
- Ensure that data and analyses are reliable and reproducible.
4. Structure and Presentation
- Title, abstract, and keywords should be informative and representative.
- Manuscripts should follow a clear structure: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion (IMRAD) or a format appropriate to the field.
- Tables, figures, and references should be relevant, clear, and meet academic standards.
5. Language and Clarity
- Manuscripts must be written in clear, professional academic English.
- Check grammar, spelling, and consistency of terminology.
- Articles that are difficult to understand should be recommended for major revision.
6. Reviewer Recommendation
- Accept: The manuscript meets high-quality standards and is ready for publication.
- Minor Revision: Minor improvements are needed before publication.
- Major Revision: Substantial revisions are required before publication.
- Reject: The manuscript does not meet high-quality standards or is not relevant.
