Publication Malpractice Statement
The Journal of Applied Nursing and Health (JANH) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in scholarly publishing. To ensure ethical practices and prevent publication malpractice, JANH adheres to the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
General Principles
Publication malpractice, including but not limited to plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate submission or publication, improper authorship, citation manipulation, and unethical research practices, is strictly prohibited. JANH does not tolerate any form of unethical behavior and will take all necessary actions when such misconduct is identified.
Responsibilities
- Authors must ensure that their work is original, accurately presented, properly cited, and free from unethical practices.
- Editors are responsible for fair, transparent, and unbiased evaluation of all manuscripts. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, without discrimination of race, gender, religion, or political beliefs.
- Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations, avoiding conflicts of interest.
- Publisher supports editors, reviewers, and authors in maintaining publication ethics and will cooperate in investigations of misconduct.
Actions Against Malpractice
When publication malpractice is suspected, JANH will follow COPE’s recommended procedures. Depending on the case, actions may include corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or article withdrawal. Serious violations may result in a permanent ban on future submissions.
